Where is a good location to visit for a chance to see two ABA Code 3 species in one afternoon? On 2 July both Berylline and White-eared Hummingbirds were at Beatty's Guest Ranch, Miller Canyon, Huachuca Mountains, Arizona.

Both hummingbird species are endemic to Mexico and northern Central America, (Middle America). Berylline Hummingbirds reaching Southeast Arizona are most likely representatives of the beryllina group, birds from north of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec (Birds of Mexico and Northern Central America, Howell and Webb). The representatives of the group south of the Isthmus, devilleri, are " as distinct as many recognized hummingbird species and warrant further taxonomic investigation" (Birds of Mexico, Howell and Webb).

What kind of feeders are those? They almost look homemade. Did you see those new Top Fill feeders from Perky-Pet? I've read they're great for attracting hummingbirds. And they’re super easy to fill.
