I didn't see anything about intergrades in your post. Maybe that's what you have there?

Whether you were able to ID the bird to species level or not this is a womderfully written article. Well done.

Also Paul, we researched the possibility of a hybrid, and we couldn't find any records of the species hybridizing. they're breeding ranges are for the most part not connected.
